Picnics and BBQ's:
The foreshore area between the jetty and boat ramp provides grassy areas, electric BBQ's, a children's playground with public toilets.
At the Recreation Reserve, opposite the General Store, a large park includes a covered pergola with electric BBQ's, picnic tables, children's playground and public toilets.
An easy stroll takes you past the commercial precinct, the boat ramp, slipway, jetty and George Bass monument and along the eastern foreshore.
For longer walks, the western foreshore will take you to Observation Point along the Boardwalk amongst the salt marsh and mangroves through the Rhyll Inlet. This area is recognised the world over as a sanctuary for migratory wading birds.
Follow the Nature Park trails to conservation Hill Lookout and from there through the Oswin Roberts Koala Reserve to Harbison Road.

2 pleasant courts adjacent to the Rec. Reserve are for hire (key at the General Store).
Boat Hire is available from the Marine Centre opposite the boat ramp, they also supply boat licences, fishing tackle, bait, ice and have a boat storage facility, fully qualified Mechanics', fuel and accessories. The General store also supply's boat licences
Fishing Charter boats also operate from this area
Located just west of Loch Road, runs a sail training school over the summer period (contact Scott 59569036)
This active club with it's clubrooms adjacent to the boat ramp always welcomes visitors (contact Ken 59569096)
The Purple Hen winery is open for tasting Friday - Monday
